Our story

To my wonderful family and friends: Wanted to let you know what is happening in my life. Gaylon and I met last February, 2009. We met for lunch and talked for over 2 hours. We found we have alot in common. He was born and raised in Rigby, Idaho and I in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Small world! He and his family seem to like the same activities as mine and things have progressed from there. With my large family of 8 children, 38 grandchildren and 13 greats and his 5 children (1 son was killed), 9 grandchildren, 3 greats, we have been plenty busy this summer.

Since we met we have had opportunities to meet all of our families and have had many varied experiences. We have been to his family reunion, his 80th birthday celebration, been to Boise to meet family that we both have there.
My son Steve had a son that was killed in June in an auto accident in Seattle and Gaylon went with me. He met most of my family at that time. We have had lots of fun doing all sort of things from going dancing, to singles, firesides, plays, boating and fishing, on picnics etc. I even attended a 5K race he ran in and won(age group was 65 to 90). He is a runner and runs 5 miles every day. Hard to keep up to that.

Soooo we decided we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and on October 2nd we are getting married for Time Only in the Timpanogos Temple. Since we are not having an open house or reception this is my way of letting my dear friends in on the upcoming festivities.
The blogging world is not my cup-o-tea so don't expect updates.

  2. Dear Pat ~ Just read about your wonderful news! We remember our happy days in the Maryland Baltimore mission, and think of you and Elder Ward really often. We're so happy that you have found a new companion to share your life with. I hope our other Sister Ward will find the same happiness that you have found. We have a home in Lehi, so possibly we might see each other one of these years! Love, Grant & Lynda Holdsworth - Flagstaff

  3. Grandma, I am all teary-eyed as I read this and think of your happiness. I really am genuinely happy for you both. I have loved getting to know Gaylon and the great guy that he is. I am excited that you guys are close so we get to see you often. We should 'double' and go to a play :) I am looking forward to next week! Love you both!
